FileMaker Developers in Southern California (FMDiSC) started in March of 1999 with a small group of FileMaker Pro developers getting together once a month to exchange development tips and ideas. Now in our 19th year, FMDiSC is one of the largest, most-influential FileMaker Developer groups in the world, with more than 250 intermediate and advanced developers interested in sharing their development ideas and experiences, and in learning how others work.
Our monthly meetings have become a local center for the exchange of technical information, discussion of timely topics, roundtable discussions of consulting/business topics, demos of new products and lots of peer networking. We generally have excellent meeting content provided by volunteers from our community as well as experts from around the world.
The content is generally steered toward intermediate and advanced developers, avoiding novice topics found in beginner "user group" meetings. That said, visitors and new members are always welcome. There are no membership requirements, fees or dues. We also have a lively online discussion list that is available to developers that attend our meetings We generally meet on the second Friday morning of each month. Our meetings are usually held at the Bresee Youth Foundation, which is located at 184 S. Bimini Place in Los Angeles, 90024. Lately, due to Coronavirus concerns, we have moved to online meetings instead. Check meeting announcements for the current correct location.
Come one, come all FMDiSC members and FileMaker enthusiasts!

ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCE DETAILS
Meeting ID: Watch this space.
We will email the event password to the FMDiSC email list the night before.
A few things you should know:
• You should check in between 9:30 and 9:50 to make sure you can connect, your audio and video are working right, chat with your friends, etc.
• There will not be a break in the middle.
• In order to handle questions, we will be making use of the “raise hand” feature in the attendee list that is available within the app. You will be called on when the time is appropriate for the presenter to answer questions. A microphone will be required for us to hear you if you choose computer audio — please make sure yours is set up and working with Zoom — there is a test function within the app. Otherwise, you can dial in on your phone.
Donate to Bresee online here: https://www.bresee.org/get-involved/donate.html
The FMDiSC Board is very proud of our group! Our new donation policy has proven quite successful. We're getting record donations made to Bresee at a time when they are most needed. Again, we ask a minimum donation to Bresee of $15 per meeting for each attendee. New members are exempt at their first meeting (we call this a free demo in the software world). We will continue to operate under the honor system, so please keep track if you pay in advance. In addition to cash, Bresee can accept checks made payable to the Bresee Youth Foundation, and can process credit card charges.
