NEM
NEM is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and blockchain platform launched on March 31, 2015. Written in Java, with a C++ version in the works, NEM has a stated goal of a wide distribution model and has introduced new features to blockchain technology such as its proof-of-importance (POI) algorithm, multisignature accounts, encrypted messaging, and an Eigentrust++ reputation system.
ZCoin
Zcoin, Ticker (XZC) is a privacy cryptocurrency that uses zero knowledge proofs through the Zerocoin protocol (not the same as Zerocash) that allows users to burn their coins and redeem them for brand new ones at a later time thus breaking transaction links and achieving true fungibility. Zcoin uses widely used cryptography and seeks to strike a balance between privacy, auditability, usability and being flexible enough to utilize developments such as the Lightning Network from other projects.
