What we're about
Join us on Tuesday evening, December 20th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Miller Library for the "Get Active Howard County" Planning Forum. Together we will take this initiative to another level. This will be a starting point to scale up GAHC so that it will have a broader reach and a greater impact. We will broaden the calendar to more effectively highlight and promote the many organizations and wellness opportunities that make Howard County one of the healthiest places to live in the country. In 2011 we set the Guiness World Record for the largest outdoor Circuit Training at a single venue right here in Centennial Park in Columbia, Maryland. But, it was never about the record. It was about encouraging individuals of all ages and physical ability to get active! The on-going FREE "Boot Camp in the Park" is supported and put on by We Promote Health, Inc., a local 100% volunteer organization in Howard County. Local trainer Brenda Von Rauntenkranz volunteers her time as head trainer. Participants show up on Saturday mornings for group fitness, comradery and connecting with others to build a healthy community.
