We welcome our groups' insight and input as we are learning together as the name means: Sankofa – is an Akan (a nation of people native to West Africa) symbol meaning “to reach back to move forward” Cypher – is a hip-hop/spoken word term for a group of people coming together in a circle to share knowledge. ****Look forward to an encore presentation of The Founders of Civilization: The African Presence Across the Globe Before the Rise of the Europeans for our new members.

What we're about

This group is for any naturals, transitioners or women who are interested in going natural and need the support of some fellow curly girls. It's a great way to make friends, talk about hair, learn more ways to style and discuss challenges that we face by rocking our naturally curly, kinky or coily hair. We will also have plenty of social gatherings as well. This is more than just a group about hair. It's a sisterhood with women who are proud to rock their hair the way it grows out of our head!
