What we’re about

Going through a separation and divorce is a complex experience in which a variety of challenges arise. Though the process may be lonely and confusing, it can lead to tremendous growth and transformation. A supportive community of people who have similar experiences can be both grounding and inspiring as you move forward in creating your post-divorce life.

The Fairfield County Separation and Divorce Group is a peer-based support group that meets online one evening per week. We offer a safe space and warm community in which to discuss the many issues inherent to this life transition. Our facilitators have considerable experience with our program, having first served as long-term members.

Each week the facilitator presents a divorce-related topic and invites members to share their thoughts and feelings on its content. Relevant resources are emailed to the group a few days prior to the meeting so that attendees can familiarize themselves with the subject matter before the meeting.
Please note that our meetings are not group therapy nor counseling sessions; the leaders and guest speakers do not provide psychotherapy. Also, our group does not offer legal or financial advice. Furthermore, we do not allow solicitation of businesses or services of any kind.

We require all participants to share their video. Also, headphones are required if there are others present in your home to maintain the confidentiality of the meeting. We ask that your Meetup profile includes a picture of yourself and that you rename your Zoom box to match your Meetup profile name.

We hope you will join us! We look forward to welcoming and supporting you!

All members and participants, whether virtual, telephonic, online or in person shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the leaders and organizers of Fairfield County Separation/Divorce Support from any and all damages, risks, losses, and expenses, including, but not limited to attorney's fees, arising out of or resulting from negligence or misconduct.
