Sorry to say, our writing group is currently CLOSED to accepting new members during the state's coronavirus lockdown. We'll reopen once things are back to normal! We deliberately keep our writing group small, so that each of us has a chance to critique and be critiqued. Our writing group is related to, but not the same as, our small press publishing imprint. If you're looking for our small press and how to submit, please go to: http://www.fairfieldscribes.com/ .
We meet every Thursday night. We are looking for fiction writers who are serious about their craft. You don't need a ton of experience, but you do need to be serious about your writing and working toward publication (new writers welcome - you don't have to be published to join). You will be expected to both show up to critique work and submit your own work on a regular basis.
We accept all fiction writers, except erotic -- and torture porn involving lobsters and mermaids (talk about a flooded market). And any story where the protagonist wakes up at the end and it's all a dream. And stuff about Unicorns named Charlie. Otherwise, everything is acceptable. (Oh, sorry, also no stories about serial killers that like "I Love Genie" re-runs. Just a personal thing with us. If the serial killer likes Matlock reruns, we can talk.)
