What we're about
Hello Mtg players! I have an 11 year old that has played magic with me since he was six years old. Given that Magic is now over 25 years old I figure there has to be more parents like me that want to play more casual magic with their kids in a welcoming environment. Also, with kids sports, boy scouts, etc, the group needs to be flexible enough to schedule meet ups that take these type of things into account.
I will pick public places near Springfield/Burke/Fairfax Station to play at different times each month and see what works given our family activities. Also, if you have any suggestions to make this work better, please let me know.
In terms of what we will play, we love Magic EDH/Commander and have a lot of pre-build decks (https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Gathering-Commander-2017-Deck/dp/B0751PLW9V/ref=sr_1_7?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1538523063&sr=1-7&keywords=magic+edh) that we have updated a bit. We also have a number of set specific pre-made decks (https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Gathering-Dominaria-Planeswalker-Decks/dp/B073XSBRP9/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1538523160&sr=1-1&keywords=mtg+dominaria+planeswalker+decks) that we play right out of the box or have improved. I do buy booster boxes at times and have participated in draft and sealed events on a number of occasions. Depending on interest, I would love to help 'teach' a group how to draft magic.
*Note: Per Meetup policy, anyone under the age of 18 will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian.
