I am a fashion illustrator / freelance artist and designer who is now teaching Fashion Design and Illustration classes at the Sewing Room in Alameda. I'm eager to share my knowledge with other local fashion lovers, budding designers, and artists looking to expand their skill set.
It all starts with pencil and paper! All skill levels and ages welcome. Kid friendly.
'Design By Sketching'
(6 week series)
I am teaching Fashion Illustration classes on Saturday evenings from 7-9pm for ages 10 to adult.
This class starts by building a mood board with inspirational photos that will help to translate your own personal style into new clothing designs. Then, using your fashion figure as a template, you will use the process of making quick sketches or croquis to develop your ideas. You will learn how to draw the basic garment shapes for a shirt, blouse, jacket, pants, skirt, and dress on a figure. You can easily create your own designs by changing proportions and style lines. Explore fabrications to understand the differences between drawing a knit versus a woven. The class will start in pencil and move towards using markers while improving your drawing skills.
6 weeks for $300 - that's only $50 a class!!!
