Workshop Details
-Geared towards photographers of all skill levels and designed with a simple approach to avoid technical overload.
-Hands on "In Field" shooting with support for decision on camera settings, composition and varied techniques for each outing
-Hands on classroom post processing techniques tailored to optimize results from your captured images. -Workflow will include the use of Adobe Cloud Products - Lightroom, Photoshop, Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Bridge* and the DXO NIK plugin (optional).
-Workshop will be limited to 6 participants. Small group for better Instruction (Instructor is First Aid / CPR certified and Insured)
-We will operate between Nags Head and Cape Hatteras with plenty of beautiful scenes in between Bodie Island Lighthouse and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
-The main focus of this Workshop will be capturing the Milky Way during the night hours. By day will we be shooting Landscapes, Seascapes, Long Exposures, Focus Stacked and HDR images.
-Apps will be used for methods on tracking the Milky Way for proper alignment
-Post processing will be a Classroom scenario to establish your own workflow on the image capture techniques taught within the course
-BYOL - Bring Your Own Laptop w/Lightroom & Photoshop installed.
Location / Field / Classroom Photographic Instruction
-Full Frame camera is suggested with a lens of at least f/2.8 or wider
-Simplified philosophy and technique utilizing your camera manually on what photography is: ISO f/Stop (aperture) and Shutter.
-Utilizing the above to make confident decisions and control the outcome of your images and vision
-Guidance on the proper camera settings for your DSLR/Mirrorless for Night Sky / Milky Way capture, -Long Exposures*, Exposure Stacking, Focus Stacking, Stacking for Noise Reduction and proper HDR capture.
*at least a 10 stop Neutral Density filter is recommended for this. A polarizing filter is also suggested
Workshop Cost
-The Outer Banks 2022 Workshop will be $975.00. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite to secure your spot.
-Lodging, Transportation and Meals are not included. A beach house will be secured with private room and bath available. Those rooms will be offered on a first come first serve basis at a comparable rate. Additional information on hotels near the beach house provided upon registration.
