Tuesday Evening Stress Reliever rides still continue! At the moment, no limit on rider sign-ups in this MeetUp event. However if we have more than 10 riders arrive at the parking lot, Mark and I will break into 2 smaller groups. Social distancing practices still in effect, so bring your mask incase we need to stop anywhere. *************************************** Join us on Tuesday evenings for a fun social road ride. Different routes each week, allowing us to explore the countryside around Topton and Kutztown - relatively flat routes with occasional rolling hills. Social pace of 12-14 mph – * C pace (see below). We will average between 20-25 miles per ride. Total ride time will be about two hours, regrouping often, and taking a short break as needed. While some riders may be a little faster, the leaders will ride at the advertised pace and/or keep pace with the slowest riders. No rider gets dropped. Rides will start at 5:30pm. Rain or high winds will cancel the ride. Any cancellations will be posted to the MeetUp site by 2:00pm day of ride. All riders must have a helmet and properly functioning bike. Looking forward to seeing you there! * Ride Classification – C pace = Rolling Hills – 12-14 mph * C rides emphasize the pleasure of riding together with other cyclists, enjoying the scenery, and having fun. Participants in C rides are often working on improving fitness. Riders can expect to regroup as needed with goal of allowing everyone to stay together.
• IF you are riding out there, be safe. What we'll do 2020 SEASON Tue. Night Stress Reliever (TNSR) ride is a great chance to get out and stretch those legs after a day of work. The ride is varied with riding the "flats" to Kutztown and some hills to the north and south. Each week is different. The pace is a B/B+ (15-17) group ride. If you have not ridden in groups or pace lines, come out and learn. This ride has been around for about 9 yrs and has grown to be a favorite. Group attendance can be 6-12 riders of all ages over 18. Weekly ride route is not posted as of this date. Weather cancellation posted at least by 4:00 on day of ride. This ride is in conjunction with the Tue."Easy" Stress Reliever with ride leader Tammy Doran. • What to bring Helmet is required on all rides. Also bring water, spare tube with inflation equipment. Lights front and or rear for safety. • Important to know FC Cycling Club provides a waiver form to be signed on each ride.
Tuesday nights at Bear Creek Mountain begins this Tuesday and will continue through the month of May. Bear Creek offers challenging trails with plenty of rocky uphill climbs and rocky descents that keep your attention. This is an intermediate to advance ride, the pace is continuous with the goal of completing two laps up and over the mountain. You will need a capable mountain bike, helmet, hydration drink and a positive attitude. We leave from the upper parking lot over looking pond promptly at 6:00 PM. Please stop in at the hotel registration desk to pick up a season trail pass.
