We are pleased to be partnering with Seattle Parks & Recreation to highlight the amazing changes at John C. Little Park in SE Seattle as a part of their Greenways Initiative (http://www.seattle.gov/parks/about-us/current-projects/greenways-initiative)that creates pathways to parks and makes Seattle parks more inviting and accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

As a kick off to WALKTOBER, we're teaming up with the Office of Arts and Culture to showcase "Art Interruptions" (http://www.seattle.gov/arts/art-interruptions-2016) that makes its way to the Rainier Valley Neighborhood Greenway (http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/rainiervalleygreenways1.htm) with whimsical temporary installations.

Take part in an Art Interruptions Walk for Fun event led by a Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassador. We'll meet the artists on the route who will share their experience of the making of their temporary pieces. This unique experience brings you up close with the artists and their creations through walking. Art Interruptions is funded by Seattle Department of Transportation's 1% for art. The SDOT GIS team has also created a cool web map (http://seattlecitygis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=c677cb1e838241a5bd1f340e7904a09b)that people can easily use during the event to see the route and where other art is located.

The walking tour will start at 10am or feel free to pick up a map at John C. Little between 10am-12pm and take a self-guided tour. Stroll at your own pace along the Rainier Valley Greenway route.

WALKTOBER is hosted by Feet First and encourages people in Washington to explore their surroundings by walking for fun, walking to work, and walking to school during the month of October.
