What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in a plant-based or vegan diet/lifestyle and meeting new people in the Ferndale area. Everyone is welcome, no matter where you are on your journey! Whether you're just curious or getting started or you're growing rutabagas in your front yard, this group is for you. This is a judgement-free zone. We are compassionate and inclusive. Our purpose is to have fun, grow a community, and maybe learn something new from each other.

We'll enjoy delicious food & drinks along the way. The meetings will be at Ferndale pop-ups, bars, restaurants, coffee shops & parks. Looking forward to exploring Ferndale with all of you!

Vegan Dinner, Drinks & Donuts at Ale Mary's Beer Hall

Ale Mary's Beer Hall

Now through Halloween Ale Mary's Beer Hall is offering vegan cider & donuts. They also have a full vegan menu including milkshakes and burgers- check it out here: https://www.alemarysbeer.com/menu. Come join us for dinner, a beer, cider & donuts or all the above. We have a reservation for 10 people at 8pm. Since it's not a huge place that's the largest party and earliest time I could reserve. We will be hungry! There's paid street parking in Royal Oak and several garages, some of which offer your first two hours at no charge. Bring cash if you can in case we need to split one bill. Also, consider bring a sweater since they typically leave the doors open so it may be chilly in the evening.

Vegan Breakfast for Dinner Potluck

Gerry Kulick Community Center

Come join us for our SECOND monthly potluck at the Ferndale's community center. This time it's breakfast for dinner! Think blueberry pancakes, cinnamon rolls, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, fruit, chia pudding, smoothies, granola - the options are endless! In celebration of Meatless Monday we'll be doing this monthly on a Monday night. This is a family-friendly event. Did you know... "Today, Meatless Monday is supported by millions of people in over 40 countries? It can make a big difference for your health and the health of our planet." Whether you're vegan, vegetarian or just curious and looking to try some different food, everyone is welcome! We do ask that all food brought to this potluck is vegan. What to bring: -a vegan dish to share - no meat, dairy or other animal products please -serving utensil for your dish -notecard labeling the dish name & ingredients -your own plate or bowl, cup or water bottle & utensils (to help cut down on our environmental impact) -no alcohol please! This is a government building so no alcohol is allowed in the space. Our hosts at the Kulick Center have graciously gifted us the space to rent free of charge. We'll be collecting donations for the Kulick Center. A donation in any amount is much appreciated! There will be a box at the dinner where you can either leave cash or a check if you prefer (to the City of Ferndale). Not sure what food to bring? Someone could bring some Miyoko's vegan butter or some good maple syrup. Once you know what you're bringing, please comment here so the group can plan so bring something different & we won't all bring dessert. If you would rather help clean up or make a donation to the space instead of a dish we can do that too. The building closes at 8pm, so we'll need to start cleaning up around 7:45pm. If you're willing to volunteer to help sweep the floor and wipe down the tables please let me know. Looking forward to sharing delicious food with you all! Lastly, if anyone would like to share their recipe comment below with a link or the info.
