What we're about

Calling all novel nerds and literature ladies! Welcome to FICTION ADDICTION, an ensemble of young women who read, gather, and drink. Our fiction addiction is fed by a novel and a graphic novel each month.

Each month we decide on a theme and 5 book choices to vote on. Will this month's theme be murder, graphic novel memoirs, dystopian fiction, or fearless female leads? Stay tuned to find out!

So pull a book off your shelf, crack that spine, pour yourself a glass of wine and start reading with us!

Jadis Restaurant

The government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than one hundred words per day, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. 📙 Vox - https://amzn.to/2ScvUcJ On the day the government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than one hundred words per day, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. This can't happen here. Not in America. Not to her. Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs. Girls are not taught to read or write. Females no longer have a voice. Before, the average person spoke sixteen thousand words each day, but now women have only one hundred to make themselves heard. For herself, her daughter, and every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice. This is just the beginning...not the end 🍷 Location: Jadis Wine Bar Quaint, quiet tucked-away wine bar where we'll meet at the back couches. $15 minimum on credit card with a full wine list, happy hour before 7pm, and salads and sandwiches.

📖 XL B56 | Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell - PART 2

Join us as we read an extra long book, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. For this meeting we'll discuss Chapters 37 to the end of the book. 📙 Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Susanna Clarke - https://amzn.to/2EucqMC At the dawn of the nineteenth century, two very different magicians emerge to change England's history. In the year 1806, with the Napoleonic Wars raging on land and sea, most people believe magic to be long dead in England--until the reclusive Mr. Norrell reveals his powers, and becomes a celebrity overnight. Yet the cautious, fussy Norrell is challenged by the emergence of another magician, the brilliant novice Jonathan Strange. Young, handsome, and daring, Strange is the very opposite of Norrell. He becomes Norrell's student, and they join forces in the war against France. But Strange is increasingly drawn to the wildest, most perilous forms of magic, straining his partnership with Norrell, and putting at risk everything else he holds dear. 🍳 Location: TBD
