Fiercely Females First January Meetup: Becoming Michelle Obama
Moving into the new year I thought that a touch of personal development with some added inspiration would be welcomed by all. Lucky for us Michelle Obama has delivered just in time! "Becoming"will be our January read. "In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America—the first African-American to serve in that role—she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare. In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it—in her own words and on her own terms. Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same." We'll meetup at CoCo Crepes Waffles and Coffee in Fulshear and for those who have never been I've heard their crepes and coffee are ahhhh-mazing! I hope to see you there in 2019 and as always in light and love!

What we're about

Do you enjoy reading books that make you FIERCELY BETTER? Would you enjoy sharing your thoughts and insights with other women who are on a constant pursuit of living their absolute best lives? Are you ready to make new like-minded friends?

We are a fiercely fun, positive, active social book club that meets in and around the Katy TX area. This group values genuine connections, living healthy and being there to uplift and support each other’s desire to live a life they love.

We will choose a new wellness/self-empowering book each month and then meet up for coffee, brunches, dinners, or potlucks at local cafes, restaurants or each other’s homes to talk about the takeaways and toss ways of what we’ve read. We’ll also have fun social events during the rest of the month like trail walks, hiking, lunch dates., etc. and members are welcome to suggest a meetup at any time.

Every day, through every choice, we are all moving towards something. Whether you are tip-toeing or making giant leaps towards your dreams or goals, let’s get together and read about ways to awaken our minds and stay motivated. We can support one another, listen and learn from each other and hopefully bring a little light into each other’s lives.

Fiercely Friendly Guidelines:

1) In the event that you need to change your RSVP please do so at least 24 hours prior to the meetup. As a Fierce Female respecting others time and commitment is truly valued.
2) Be mindful that this group is about people and not products. We encourage you to bring to the table your experience, knowledge and opinions on all topics of discussion but please ask that all forms of “selling” be left for outside the meetups.
3) Stay open minded and show up with the intention to listen and trust that every meetup will be a safe space that offers an opportunity to grow and learn to be FIERCELY BETTER together.
4. Speak up and offer suggestions on how you feel our group can invest time in enjoying healthier and happier lives. Your voice is important, and your thoughts deserve to take up space in the world.
