10 or 20 mile ride 🚴🚴 (12-15mph) and or one hour kayak 🛶 at Fort DeSoto

Details

A group member saw them setting up bike racks and a sign that roads will be closed until 9am for a triathlon, so we are pushing our start to 930.

Details
We will meet at The Island Grille & Raw Bar parking lot, 210 Madonna Blvd, Tierra Verde, FL 33715, turn at 711 / Shell immediately after bridge to find lot and avoid construction. If you drive past 711 and Century 21 you missed it!

This is after construction and draw bridge

Please be there by 15 minutes early so we can have the rubber to the road as scheduled.

This will give you a 20.4 or so-mile ride for your total distance, with a kayak ride at about half way mark, and you won’t have to pay the $5 Parking fee for your vehicle in the park!

This is a moderate paced at maybe 12-15 ride with all skill levels welcomed. We always have a sweep rider' so no one gets left behind!
Breakaways for faster riders.

Some of us will kayak for 1 hour at Fort Desoto, they say no reservations. Both times I have done it I saw dolphins and cool birds. Some may skip kayak portion.

Come See The Manatee, Egrets and Dolphin on a self-guided eco-tour -
Includes a guide book that tells about the history, plants and creatures you'll see along the way!
