PDXFM October - Is FileMaker ACID compliant?

Details

Chris Irvine of ThreeProng will be taking us on an ACID trip. ACID in this case, stands for "Atomicity Consistency Isolation Durability" and is a database benchmark that transactions will process reliably. Chris will show us four database concepts from computer science, and how well FileMaker does or does not perform in these areas. There have been several great Devcon presentations about transactions, but transactions are just one component of the larger ACID picture. Chris will show us several live demos and share many techniques you will be able to take away and implement in your own solutions.

Chris will do his best to break down these topics into simple terms, but cautions that this is an advanced topic. There is no prerequisite experience, this will be useful information for both new and seasoned developers. Bring your thinking caps and ask lots of questions! And he promises, there will not be a test.

Please RSVP for the meeting! I am also looking for ideas for the meetings in November and December. If you are interested in presenting or have an idea on topics, or you are interested in sponsoring the food and/or beverage for the meeting please contact me directly (gerald@eight2.com).
