An artist couple, Cheri Pann and Gonzalo Duran, have transformed their home over the years to this astounding museum of tile art. http://www.cheripann.com/The_Mosaic_Tile_House.html We'll meet there at 3p.m. Bring CASH for the event -- $20, and $15 for seniors. Easy parking on Palms. Some of their art is available for purchase and credit cards are okay for that. At about 4 p.m. We will get in our cars (car pooling is advised) and head to Enterprise Fish Company, 174 Kinney St., Santa Monica,[masked] (North of Ocean Park & West of Main St.) There is a large parking lot directly north of the restaurant or street parking. We will meet on the patio for Happy Hour! Because this event is so popular, and limited 20, we are asking for a $5.00 non-refundable admin fee, to help ensure your attendance. When you click to sign up for the event, you will be taken to a payment processing page where you can enter your cc information. We look forward to seeing you!
THIS IS A 2-PART EVENT. We gather to build friendships and have fun, so all registrants are expected to attend both the brunch and the shoe salon adventure. PART 1: At 11:00 am we will connect over brunch at Lemonade in Venice. Afterwards we will walk 5 minutes to the John Fluevog shoe salon on Abbot Kinney. The store manager plans to greet and personally host our exploration of this fantastic footwear. No purchase is required, but we're offered a 10% discount on anything we must possess. Check out their full catalogue of styles: https://www.fluevog.com/ About Fluevog: John Fluevog designs and produces untraditional shoes in traditional mostly hand-made methods, using natural--sometimes vegan--materials. He invites customers to be part of the creative and design process. "Open Source Footware" lets shoe wearers become shoe designs, "Fluevog Creative," lets you create our own Fluevog ads, plus they have an artist grant program and a customer gift exchange where happy-footed customers around the world connect through giving. Some famous Fluevog-wearing folks: Madonna, Alice Cooper, The Dandy Warhols, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga.
[Only a month later, we're repeating this event so those who missed out can come. It was that much fun! Hilarious! Skilled actors and dancers weaving Shakespeare's themes into burlesque.] Short on refinement, large on authenticity, Three Clubs is an unrepentant dive bar in Hollywood on Vine Street. Time Out says, "The bar is a different facet of “Old Hollywood,” not the kind followed by the word “glamour,” but one that evokes images of washed up lounge singers in smoke-filled rooms, of rock and roll and cabaret. With its deep red interior compounded by carpeted floors, velvet wallpaper, mahogany paneling, black leather and a sparkly black ceiling, it’s an atmosphere that immediately demands a martini, but will settle for a beer and a shot." http://threeclubs.com/ In the back room of this unapologetic setting, the Toil and Trouble Burlesque troupe is presenting "Naked Villainy." The best burlesque performers in LA + the best playwright of all time + the unforgettable Three of Clubs = a triple big, bawdy, and boozy good time. Buy your $22 ticket here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/toil-and-trouble-burlesque-presents-naked-villainy-tickets-70225820319 We'll meet at 6:30 for drinks and mingling. The show starts at 7:30. Allow time to park. If you arrive early, you may find a spot in the lot. Better yet Uber/Lyft.
