There is something oddly exhilarating about Finnegans Wake. It's impossible and ridiculous-the dense references, layers of wordplay in multiple languages, stream-of-unconscious narration causes the meaning to kind of dance at the edge of your perception-like the memory of a dream as you are just contemplating opening your eyes. I'm not a scholar, I don't want to study this book, I want to enjoy it. I've picked it up several times and found I needed to spread the task of interpreting it over a couple other brains. However, it's surprisingly hard to just stumble across other people who have this on their to-do list. If you are one of those people, why don't we meet up, have a beer, get to know each other and delve in.
