What we're about

At "Fit Hike and Run," we'll vary the location and routine, but typically we'll hike BRISKLY for roughly 6 miles and every 1/4 or every 1/2 mile we'll run/jog for roughly 60 seconds and then do bodyweight exercises like planks for another 60 or so seconds. After each hike, we'll return to the starting point & members have the option to stick around afterward for some stretches and additional exercises -- including some fun group exercises.

We exercise outside because it's healthier & to enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife. Most of our hike-runs follow the pulchritudinous Potomac River, either south on the (asphalt) Mt. Vernon Trail where we can gawk at Washington, DC's monuments, or north along the storied (dirt) C&O Canal Towpath.

I further agree to HOLD HARMLESS this Meetup and its organizer from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant on the outing. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me on an outing.
