Burgess Park nature lover's Nordic Workout Walk
Love nature? You might be surprised by the wilder areas of Burgess Park. And our regulars on Tuesday morning 9 am love checking out the flowers, mushrooms, trees and wildlife we pass during our walk. Don't worry, we will still give you a really good workout, and you will absolutely still get the results you are after. We just like to also pay a little attention to what is going on around us and the changes the seasons bring us. A little more mindful, sure to give you an inspirational, relaxed and happy start of the day. This group sure likes to enjoy life! All our walks are designed to get results and are ideal if you have limited time. We make sure you work at a level that will get the most out of every step you take. Super fun, super effective. Great for your core, bum and those pesky bingo wings. Get fitter, stronger, more toned, and above all: happier! We get rid of the stress while we walk and talk and throw in some High Intensity Interval Training for good measure, to make sure you keep burning fat, even after the session. We don't believe you have to suffer to get leaner. We know it is much easier to stay motivated to live healthy if you have fun while you are doing it. This workout walk is for members who have completed the four week Learn to Nordic Walk course, either with us, or have gained their Freedom Pass with any other Nordic Walking UK accredited instructor. Most of our members have their own poles and prepay for 10 sessions. They pay £89.00, or £8.90 per session. For a one off session it is £10, or £12.50 if you want to borrow our poles. If you'd like to buy Nordic Walking poles, we would be happy to advice you to make sure you buy the right poles for your goals. In order to participate in a walk, please RSVP to book your space at least 1 day before its start time and let me know if you need to borrow any poles. Want to prepay for more than one walk, or already have your own poles, please contact Francesca on [masked] and she will explain you the payment options, or just bring cash to the class. We walk in all safe weather conditions – if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!

What we're about

This is a group for anyone who would love to meet new people, get fitter, enjoy the outdoors and feel more relaxed and happy. Most of our members are over 40, and we all love Nordic Walking.

For those of you who have Nordic Walked before: We have Nordic Walking classes almost every day of the week in South East London. Once a month we have a longer walk, which we call our monthly Explorer. Those Explorer walks can be joined by Nordic Walkers or walkers without poles, so they are an excellent opportunity to meet some of our other members.

Nordic Walking is a fun activity for people of all ages and abilities. It is soft on the joints and knees and helps with back and shoulder pain. You use 90% of your muscles and up to 45% more calories compared to walking without the poles. All in all, a super fun and effective way to get fit, happy, healthy and to meet new friends!

If you haven't tried Nordic Walking before, we offer regular taster sessions in Southeast London. Those sessions are free, and designed to give you the best idea what Nordic Walking is all about and why we all love it so much.

We also regularly offer 4-week Learn to Nordic Walk courses. If the taster session gave you a taste for more, you can sign up for one of those. If you can't find a time or date you are looking for, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we might be able to set one up at a time more convenient for you.

Feeling adventurous? We also organise holidays and weekends away, and sometimes we offer kayak coaching or paddleboarding classes.

Our trips and meetups are all about getting fitter and making you feel good!
