Over 50? On a fitness journey? Whether you're just beginning to get fit or are already there, join the #FitAfter50 Revolution! We meet occasionally for brisk walks in or near Burlington, NC and surrounding areas.
The healthy benefits of walking are tremendous. According to BoomerCafe.com, walking may prevent heart disease and diabetes, relieve back pain, reduce anxiety and improve the quality of your life.
"Walking is the single best exercise we can recommend on a large scale,” says Bob Sallis, MD, spokesperson for Everybody Walk!, a national public health campaign created by Kaiser Permanente. “Exercise is like a medication we should be prescribing for our patients. Walk Springwood Park is a weekly event to promote fitness in our community for the 50+ population. Come join us whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or are maintaining your level of fitness. Our 30-minute walk will include walking the track at the park while enjoying the camaraderie / networking with members of your local community. Why walk and what's in it for you? Walking has great health benefits! (on Front Street) where you may choose to enjoy a refreshing beverage while continuing the camaraderie / networking with members of your local community. Why walk and what's in it for you?
