Welcome to The Fitchburg Pilots Association, EAA Chapter 1454 located at Fitchburg MA Municipal Airport (KFIT).
PLEASE NOTE: This Meetup site is available for viewing by anyone interested in our activities. We encourage you to visit here anytime, see what we do and attend our chapter meetings. We use this site to schedule chapter activities and membership is limited to current members of Fitchburg Pilots Association/EAA Chapter 1454 (FPA) and their guests. For fly-outs, PICs need to know and approve any passengers prior to departure. We have approximately 100 members in our organization. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. More information about us can be found at http://www.fitchburgpilots.org/ .
Remember to check here often! Especially late Tuesday nights when last minute Fly Outs are often scheduled!
Chapter Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at our new FPA Aviation Center hangar. Dinner at 6:00 followed by the meeting at 7:00. Any ideas or questions, please contact any of the leadership team.
What we do - watch video scenarios and participate in group discussion to create "hangar talk" - that's valuable, practical knowledge gained from the group's discussion of the flying scenario issues and problems encountered.
Your IMC Club takeaway ?? You and the attending pilots are able to share information, network, promote safety, and build proficiency in instrument flying.
See you at IMC Club. Pizza, snacks, & drinks served. All are welcome !!!
The airport commission meets the FOURTH Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the terminal building. It is a great way to find out what is going on at the airport, meet the new commissioners and watch the progress of the new runway, terminal building and other changes.
The meeting agenda will be made available after it has been posted by the Airport Commission in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.
The Fitchburg Airport Commission meeting is open to anyone in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Open Meeting Law and is not associated with the FPA.
Speaker for our February meeting will be Graeme Smith.
Graeme Smith is in the habit of flying open ended cross country trips with a tent and sleeping bag. His title of this adventure is Triple Tree and Florence.
It’s not the final destination—it’s the adventures along the way—that make the trip. Come see how I prep to camp under the wing and how it helped with one such “adventure” to the Triple Tree fly-in in South Carolina. How the approach of Hurricane Florence meant that cutting and running early to stay ahead of the storm turned a simple 650 mile trip home into a 7 day slog under the constant threat of “Get-There-It-Is”.
The meal for February will be our world famous (not really) chili bake off. I’m looking for 5 or 6 pilot’s to bring in a crock pot of their BEST chili. Our winner two years in a row will not be attending, so the field is WIDE OPEN! We will be providing Fritos, soft drinks, maybe a salad, and desert. As always, dinner at 6, meeting begins at 7.
