Prescott Write It Now

Needs a location

Now is the time to write your novel/script/blog/article/short story/poetry instead of just dreaming about it! Let’s meetup and... Write It Now! Having trouble finishing your book? Starting a term paper? Writing a long overdue letter to those dearest to you? Then this is the group for you! Curious about writing?! New members curious about writing in a group setting are encouraged to come to this new weekly Sunday meetup. We are a friendly group and you don't have to share your work. (We focus on just getting the words written down on paper). Time to be productive again. Our goal is to write at least one page every writing period. All are welcome, with only one requirement: come with an idea and something to write on. We socialize and do a goal check for a few minutes before starting to write promptly after the first twenty minutes (10:20) and write for about 1.5 hours before wrapping up the event. There is no format to follow - write whatever you want, in the way that works best for you. After our meetup ends at noon, you can continue writing, leave or talk; it's up to you! If you become an inactive member, you will be removed from the group (due to our limited attendance numbers) but you are always welcome to re-join in the future when your schedule allows you to attend.

Shut Up and Write

Needs a location

For full details, including the address, and to RSVP see: https://www.meetup.com/shutupandwriteflagstaff/events/ Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6:00 on Mondays evenings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 6:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 6:15 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 7:15 - (the end) chat / take off / keep writing. Lia Leaf Tea House closes at 8:00. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 5:45. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you at Lia Leaf Tea House! What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Due to limited outlets, if you are bringing a laptop please make sure its charged before the event. Other Important Details: Lia Leaf Tea House has WiFi. TRAVEL / PARKING: Parking is available around all buildings and in the lower level of the parking garage, accessible from Windsor Ln. GUIDELINES: Lia Leaf Tea House offers tea, coffee, and a selection of regular, gluten free, and vegan baked goods. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
