Hacking 101: Introduction to Application Security

Needs a location

Whether you are creating applications or using them, it’s crucial to know how and why your apps might be vulnerable to attack—and how to stop them! RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hacking-101-introduction-to-application-security-tickets-100439461132?aff=meetup This beginner-friendly cybersecurity workshop, provided by Flatiron School sister school SecureSet, gives attendees a hands-on experience with both attack and defense in an application environment. Application Security (AppSec) is the use of software, hardware and procedural methods to combat vulnerabilities and protect critical data from external threats. Effective AppSec hinges upon an organization’s ability to examine and plug the “holes” that are present in the software used to run their business. Meet our Instructor: In addition to teaching for SecureSet, Serge Borso is the Chief Executive Officer of SpyderSec. Serge is an active member in the information security community and has an extensive history in this industry. He has developed enterprise penetration testing programs, been involved in implementing transparent biometric security systems, creating and implementing security awareness training solutions and vocally advocating for tighter application security. Serge is a Community Instructor with the SANS institute and President of the Denver OWASP chapter.
