Flood The Streets NorCal (part Vl) Nov 23 2018
FLOOD the Streets with ART Sacramento! (Part Vl), Let's Do This Sacramento & be part of over 6,000 Creative Flooders The goal is simple: On BLACK FRIDAY (Nov. 23th, 2018) We want every artist, or anyone with a creative spirit on our planet to drop one piece of art they've created onto the streets of their community for a random stranger to find, pick up, take home & love. Yes, for FREE. (Be great if you can get a photo of you leaving your art off, include a special tag, see below, & in the discussions) See event listing on Creative to the Core (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CreativeToTheCore/) Nov 23, 2018 art event Allow us to explain... Here in the United States of America, we will celebrate Thanksgiving Day this year on Thursday, Nov. 22rd, 2018. We will spend the day with family, friends & loved ones giving thanks for everything in our lives we have to be thankful for. It's really loving and special and meaningful. ♥ But then... On the following day a.k.a. BLACK FRIDAY (the day after we've given thanks for everything we have in life), we rush out in an uncivilized manner trampling complete strangers to death while pushing, shoving & acting like a complete lunatic so we can buy a big screen TV for twenty bucks. I'm speaking tongue-in-cheek, of course, but truth be told, it's not that far removed from what actually happens. I wish I were joking. :( That being said, I want all of us to come together as artists & human beings to do a random act of kindness on the one day of the year that I believe matters most. It's one day. One piece of art. The random acts of kindness should be plentiful & the excuses as to why you can't do this should be minimal. That means, I need EVERYONE to participate. Yes, everyone. Every human being should be doing this. Last year, this act/event created quite a stir. I (and all of you) made all sorts of headlines & happiness was everywhere. When all was said and done, over 6,000 individual artists dropped a piece of art on every continent on this planet. Art was dropped in all 50 U.S. states & well over 30 different countries. With most artists dropping more than one piece (and some as many as a dozen pieces) of art, we guesstimated that 10,000 - 12,000 pieces of art were dropped on the streets all over the world. We fully expect this year to be even more established and I expect all of us to absolutely crush last year's numbers in this amazing act of kindness. This is where all of you come in. :) We don't care if you paint, photograph, knit, sew, weld, sculpt, woodwork, crochet or write music. We don't even care if you don't call yourself an "artist". We don't care if you're 7 years old or 77 years old. The fact remains is we're all human beings and the world can always use another act of kindness wherever your neighborhood may be. ♥ If you want to be a part of something amazing. Something positive. Something that matters. Something that will truly make a difference in someone else's life... now is your chance. Stop debating petty stuff on the Internet, Facebook and social media and do something that matters! Join the event! LIKE it & SHARE it 'til you can't possibly share it anymore. And when you think you've shared it enough, then share the event again. Tell your friends! Tell your Mom! Tell your friend's Mom! Who's ready to FLOOD the streets with some ART? *raises hand!* ME!! :) Leave your piece with a tag: ** EXAMPLE / THE TAG! ** Hoping this post clears up the "tag" issue & puts that to rest right away. If you have any questions, concerns or other issues that need to be addressed, please do not hesitate to contact me. My apologies in advance for the lengthy post.
