Dr. Stuart D. Goldman is the author of Nomonhan, 1939: The Red Army's Victory That Shaped World War II. He will give a power point presentation on a little known battle on the Manchurian-Mongolian frontier that influenced the outbreak of WWII and shaped the course of the war. He will answer questions about the battle and about our current affairs with Russia.

Dr. Goldman is the scholar in residence at the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research. From 1979 to 2009, he was the senior specialist in Russian and Eurasian political and military affairs at the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress.
