This is an assignment that I've given to students for over 35 years. It started with freshmen at MSU and continued at the Dunedin Fine Art Center and finally here at FCCP.

The Letter "A", is your assignment for the next two weeks. Then every two weeks we'll be looking for and posting the next letter in the alphabet (B, C, D, etc.). Please do not get ahead of the assignment and post letters that have not been assigned yet. Please read below.
We can find our alphabet in the world around us. Letters are everywhere we look, in different sizes, shapes and colors. Sometimes repeated, sometimes alone, sometimes hidden. The letters may appear as your main subject or as part of the negative space. Over the next 26 weeks, I’m challenging everyone to look around and share with the group your best image of a letter. Each week we’ll focus on a different letter. This challenge will be fun and help us see our surroundings a bit differently.
