The second quarter Print Competition and Critique is scheduled for Saturday, June 1st..

Print categories are Portrait (including wedding and formal events), Landscape, Wildlife, Street Photography, Abstract and Open. Judges reserve the right to reassign the category for any print.

Photographs can be ~8x10 to ~11x14 (for example a 10x15 print is acceptable) and mounted on a 16x20 black or white mat board. Prints not conforming to the requirements will not be accepted for judging.

Mat boards will be available at various FCCP functions (classes/PhotoWalks) for purchase. They will also be available the morning of the event, starting at 8 AM. They are $4 each. One side is black, the other is white. You can use clear photo corners so that the mat boards are reusable. A small quantity of clear corners is provided with each mat sold.

On the back of each mat board, please attach your name, and contact information.

Each member may enter up to 4 images, but no more than 1 per category.

Doors open at 8:00 AM. No food or beverage purchase is required. However, table service is provided and coffee, tea, soft drinks and juices are available. After the event, there is a lunch and no prior RSVP is required.

All images must be submitted no latter than 8:50 AM the day of the competition. Winners do not need to be present.

Following the judging there will be a critique of each image submitted (time permitting). This is how you'll learn to improve your photography. Each judge will explain what they liked about the image, why they scored it the way they did and make constructive suggestions on how the image could be improved.

All members are encouraged to attend, even if not submitting work. As with previous competitions/critiques, it will be a great learning experience and we look forward to many submissions.

Here is the link to the form the judges use for scoring:

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

* First Place (Best of Competition) — 16x20 metal print, a $75 value

* Second Place — 16x20 print, mounted and choice of standard paper surface, a $30 value

* Third Place — 16x20 print, mounted and choice of standard paper surface, a $30 value

Decision of the judges is final. No substitution of the prizes.
