Today's class will give you a greater understanding of camera lenses and can help add more creative control to digital photography. Choosing the right lens for the task can become a complex trade-off between cost, size, weight, lens speed and image quality. This class aims to improve your understanding by providing an introductory overview of concepts relating to image quality, focal length, perspective, prime vs. zoom lenses and aperture or f-number. FCCP Director Jeff Donald will lead the class.
This class has never been offered before. Upcoming classes will include using filters — Polarizer Filters, Neutral Density (ND) Filter, Graduated Neutral Density Filters (GND) and may require this class as a prerequisite
for the other classes.
Topics he'll be covering include;
• Lens elements and image quality
• Influence of lens focal length and image quality
• What focal length lens to use when
• Zooms vs. Primes/Fixed Focal Length
• Influence of lens aperture/f-number on image quality
• Using Wide Angle lenses
• Using Telephoto lenses
• Much, much more . . .
