***CANCELLED*** Practice Bird Photography at Temple Terrace

This morning we’ll meet-up to practice bird photography. This photowalk/workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to put into practice the techniques presented in Dale’s "Birds on A Budget" class on Saturday March 7, 2020. The class is NOT a requirement to attend this photowalk, everyone is welcome.

The most celebrated technical challenge in bird photography is capturing crisp images of Birds In Flight - or BIF’s.

The dock at the boat ramp will offer a great opportunity to practice BIF photography. You will have the opportunity to capture Ibis', Egrets and Seagulls as they fly into the shore. As well as Anhinga, Pelicans and Herrings flying up and down the river.

The boardwalk has been recently renovated. It presents excellent views of the Hillsborough River amongst the cypress trees. We will encounter waders such as White Ibis, Limpkin, and Egrets. We will possibly be able to catch Limpkins and Ibis’ feeding on Apple Snails. There will likely be Ducks and Gallinules drifting near the shore. As well as a chance of Pelicans or Anhinga perching in the cypress tree islands across the river.

Occasionally we see alligators, turtles, kayakers and fishermen on the river as well.

Free parking is available in the park. Pull into the boat ramp entrance and turn to the left just before the ramp. There are shaded parking spaces under the trees.

After the Photowalk we'll head to a local bar and grill to relax and share our successes.
