FCCP events are designed to motivate members to take photos more frequently. Assignment topics are chosen to encourage members to photograph subjects they may not normally photograph. Members may have to use techniques that they don't normally use and in return, they'll gain new insights and skills in photography.

We can find our alphabet in the world around us. Letters are everywhere we look, in different sizes, shapes and colors. Sometimes repeated, sometimes alone, sometimes hidden. The letters may appear as your main subject or as part of the negative space.

This Assignment will repeat every two weeks, so you may want to look for ways to challenge yourselves.

There aren't a lot of rules, other than waiting until the Start time to upload. The idea is to go through the alphabet, at your own pace and in any order you like. You can upload one letter or all 26 at the same time.

  • If you post one letter every two weeks, you'll complete the alphabet in a year.
  • You might want to limit yourself to nature photos. Look for letters in everything from tree branches to the clouds and insects.
  • You might want to limit yourself to automobile makes, street signs or any other subject that's of special interest to you.
  • You might want to upload random letters as the opportunity arises, just don't upload to the next album, until the Start time.

-The second "C" in FCCP is for "Creative," so you're encouraged to make up your own challenge, but please let us know what you're doing, in the caption or first comment.

At this point, we're just trying to get people to look more closely at their environment. If there are enough people interested, we might assign some specific challenges in the future.

This challenge should be fun and help us see our surroundings a bit differently.

Here are a few "Letters In Our Environment" photos ( https://tinyurl.com/y3l7wslh ) to get you thinking.

Good luck and good shooting.
