Whiteman's Valley is one of the nicest rides in the Wellington region - the word "bucolic (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bucolic)" was invented for places like this. We'll meet at Wallaceville Station at 10:48am (catch the 10:05am Hutt Valley train from Wellington - hopefully allowing Kapiti people to use their Gold Cards to connect!). Here's the route (https://goo.gl/maps/BazS8oy5zBU2): we'll climb up Wallaceville Rd to join Whiteman's Valley Rd and head south. After an invigorating descent on Blue Mountains Rd, we can decide whether we lunch at Silverstream's Fig Tree Cafe (http://figtreecafe.co.nz/), or head down the river trail to Janus Bakkerji (http://www.janus.co.nz/) in Lower Hutt. Around 32km to Janus, with about 250m of climbing.
