What we're about
We started over 8 years ago and have been going strong ever since. Join a a group of people that want to have some fun while enjoying a meal. You don't have to be an excellent chef, just enjoy cooking and meeting new people. Challenge yourself by cooking for the theme! We have had some great themes from ethnic to holidays to historic.
We get together in member's homes once a month, usually on a Saturday night, and follow a food theme. Since we will be going to member's homes we ask that you be located near the Rochester area and able to host a minimum of 8 people. Most of our meetups range from 12 to 15 on average.
Here's how it works: The member host and group organizer decide a theme. The member hosting will decide how many people they can accomodate. Once details are set, we post the gathering using first come first served for RSVP (which opens 30 days before event). Bring your dish ready to eat, some wine and let's have fun!
This group is for those that just want to meet new people and have another social outlet. It is not a dating service, not a serious cooking club and not a drama club. We ask you be considerate of others and if it's not a good match we'll let you know. So that we can keep our group small, we will periodically cancel membership for people that have not attended any event or hosted an event or never pay their dues. Since our members intend to have food and laughs, we do not permit business solicitation of any kind. Any members soliciting business will be deleted from membership with no refund of dues. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HOST at some point during the year. If you cannot host at least 8 people at one time, then please do not apply for membership. If your home is too small to host, consider a friend's home, a public park shelter, etc. but hosting is a requirement of membership.
Members are asked to contribute $6.00 every 12 months to cover the cost of Meetup and the miscellaneous items ( picnic supplies, Meetup web page fees, etc). Membership fees MUST be paid within the 60 day trial period .
