According to many ‘experts’, Progressive Web Apps are the next big thing that will change the world. But so is Big Data, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, AI, IoT and of course the magic “Cloud” - whatever that might be. Now we are wondering what the deal is with this PWA stuff - is it real or just another buzzword? What is it exactly and will it change our future as developers and users? A deep dive into Progressive Web Apps, our experience with building them and a quick start to get you started as well! Bio: Jamie Maria is addicted to e-commerce, in love with code and her mind bound to business. Driven by the urge for innovation she fights with the aim to improve the online world around her. With DEITY she is abetting an online revolution to evolve web technologies to the use of PWA solutions. You can find her working with ‘the guys’ in the heat of the moment or in the middle of the night, while transforming chaos into gold. One of her passions is to empower women and girls to never stop chasing their dreams. --- Peter Peerdeman - GraphQL --- You have probably integrated a fair share of REST APIs in your frontend applications. Ever wished you could decide for yourself what combination of data and fields the backend should return? GraphQL is an API language that allows backend teams to expose strongly typed, automatically documented APIs that are a joy for the frontend team to work with. Peter would love to give you an insight on what GraphQL is and how his team at Lifely uses GraphQL with NodeJS, React and Apollo. Bio: Peter is a passionate technologist leading a team of talented engineers at Lifely. With a team of 22 they turn business challenges into digital concepts, design, code and devops. Whenever Peter is not high-fiving the team or discussing technical decisions he loves to produce electronic music and take pretty pictures.
