Box it up! Introduction to Docker
Details
Let's take the mystery out of the Docker container platform! I will familiarize you with the basics, discuss why it's so nifty, and set you up to go play on your own. We'll install Docker at the end, and do a short lab if time permits.
If you'd like to install now, you can download here (https://store.docker.com/search?type=edition&offering=community). I use docker from Ubuntu: either a VM on my Windows machine or a server at work. You CAN install docker directly on either Windows or Mac, but there are limitations if we get into swarms and, at least on Windows, the Docker installation does not coexist with Virtual Box.
original request: I'd love to see a short presentation Docker, how to use it, etc. Then perhaps a short working session to launch one (maybe on DigitalOcean - I'm happy to be the crash test dummy). Even if this is informal just to meet for a beer with a smaller group that'd be cool
