Local Data Science Opportunities & Data Wrangling in R Part 1
Details
• What we'll do
Some data science positions will be opening up in northern CO in the near future and I've invited some folks from Tek Systems to tell us about them. They have confirmed that they'll give a 15-20min presentation on specifics and to answer any questions. Following this presentation, I'm planning to start a mini-series on data wrangling.
In part 1, I'll motivate the importance of data wrangling by introducing an example that we'll work through. We'll start by introducing the basics of working with SQL and then move into dplyr including both how to leverage their strengths as well as how to deal with their weaknesses. In future session, we'll get into more advance techniques and then explore how to get these same tasks done in python.
• What to bring
I'll be checking in my example code into our repo, so you won't need to bring your laptop unless you'd like to work along with my examples and/or ask me specific questions.
• Important to know
The folks from Tech will be buying us pizza, so please RSVP ASAP so we can get an accurate count to know how many much to order.
