What we're about
This group was created for those who are interested in Aquaponics and other Permaculture or sustainable lifestyle practices in Fort Worth, Aledo, Weatherford, and surrounding areas. Aquaponics is a sustainable farming method that combines Aquaculture (raising of aquatic animals like fish, crayfish, or prawns) with Hydroponics (growing plants without soil). Aquaponics uses the plants to filter the fish water, up-taking as vital nutrients and then returning the clean water back to the fish, eliminating the need for water changes. Aquaponics is a more productive growing method and can use up to 90% less water than traditional soil agriculture, not to mention no more having to deal with weeds! Whether you have been growing food with Aquaponics for years, or this is your first time hearing of Aquaponics, this group is for you.
