I love playing games, and always have. There are a ton of new board games out there that look like a blast, and I would love to try them with a group of people that also love playing games.
Unfortunately, as an adult, I've found myself with friends that aren't really into games. So I am putting this group together to find a new group of friends that do! (Just don't tell my old friends :)
I want to play games that are lighter and a little easier to learn, but that still involve some strategy and not all luck. Think games like Betrayal at House on the Hill, Mysterium, Dead of Winter, Pandemic, Gloom, Exploding Kittens, Catan, Werewolf, Sheriff of Nottingham, etc. Pretty much anything like they play on Wil Wheaton's TableTop on YouTube. Haven't played all of these, and I am definitely open to a lot of suggestions for others to play. We can throw some silly party games in there too!
I picture this being the type of group that would get together on a weekend night, every 4 to 6 weeks or so, have a few drinks together, and play some games.
A little about me. I'm in my mid 40s, I am married, and have two kids. So I was thinking this group would be made up of 30 and 40 somethings, but a little older or younger, male or female, wouldn't matter to me.
I like sci-fi movies, horror movies, 80s music, alternative music, comic cons, escape rooms, laser tag, and other geeky type stuff. Not saying you have to like any of that to join the group, but I was thinking this may be a group that would like to hang out and do other things as well together. Like maybe go to Comic Con, see a sci-fi movie, go to an escape room :), because like I said, somehow oddly I'm in a group of friends that don't really like any of that stuff :(
So if this sounds like something you would be interested in, request to join and we'll go from there. This is all brand new to me, and I am definitely open to suggestions for this group.
