While results are usually posted to the USCF within one to two days of the event, on rare occasions it may take a week or two before results are posted. We would like to thank the Frederick Community College for graciously allowing us to host our events at their wonderful facility. Rounds start promptly at 11:00 A.M, 1:00 P.M., 3:00 P.M, 5:00 P.M. Late arrivals will be charged a $5.00 fee for first round bye. There will be no 20 minute break between the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Parents should plan to bring lunch or use vending machines. ENTRY FEE: $20.00 PRIZES: 1st and 2nd place prizes awarded. Minimum prize fund of $60 based on 16 entries. Minimum prize fund of $140 based on 20 entries. Minimum prize fund of $330 based on 30 or more entries. RSVP: Please RSVP on Meetup so we can have an idea of attendance. There is no mechanism in place for pre-registration. We only accept cash at the tournament site. The only requirement is that participants be a current member of the USCF, as this is a USCF sanctioned rated event. If you don't have one we can help get you set up at the tournament, although we recommend you take care of this beforehand. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an official USCF sanctioned event. It will be conducted in accordance with the current USCF rules as promulgated in U. S. Chess Federation’s Official Rules of Chess, 7th Edition (2020). The rule book will be available at the venue, and is available from the USCF, Amazon and other retailers. Use of cell phones in any manner in the playing room is prohibited. Make sure your cell phone is in the silent mode (not vibrate) or turned off while in the playing room. Rule 20N1 refers. No food or drink is permitted in the playing room while rounds are in progress. (Water bottle is ok.) Please make an effort to start games on time and report results to the tournament director promptly, as this will help maintain the schedule. In the event of a dispute during play, STOP YOUR CLOCK IMMEDIATELY and get the event's TD to resolve the situation. Children are welcome at all Frederick Chess Club Sponsored events. However, it is expected that all players will exhibit good sportsmanship and respect not only for their opponents, but for all competitors in the gaming hall. Parents are expected to lead by example. In this regard, we adhere to the USCF’s spectator policy for scholastic events.
