What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, socializing, happy hours, parties, weekend trips, volunteering for local causes, making new friends and having a blast! All skill levels are welcome. I started this group to get more people involved and get more exposure for our club.

There is no cost to come to our monthly meetings. We have membership dues of $35 per year for a single person or $45 per year for a family. If you decide to attend any overnight trip, you must have a current, paid membership. Learn more visit www.frederickskiclub.com. Looking forward to meeting new friends!

Moved to 2021—FSC is going to Thailand.

Needs a location

FSC is traveling to Thailand in November 2020! No, there won't be any skiing, just an exciting, small group adventure! The cities we will visit are Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. (*Optional Pre trip to Cambodia as well) Thailand—once called Siam—is where independence, hospitality, and the traditional philosophy that “life is pleasure” casts a spell over every visitor. In a small group, you’ll weave your way into daily life to get an authentic glimpse of a culture that has gone untouched by western influence. Let locals lead you through their cities, villages, markets, and temples on this adventure from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. Exploring Thailand from the cosmopolitan south to the remote northern hill tribes, you’ll witness Buddhist monks receiving alms at a dawn ceremony…walk along scenic stretches of the Mekong River…buy some fresh lemongrass in Bangkok’s floating market, visit an elephant care center. A local Trip Leader will help you gain an insider’s perspective into Thai culture as they connect you with locals—prepare a traditional meal alongside villagers, dine in a local home, and ride on a traditional wooden rice barge. Discover what captivates so many visitors in this tropical nation. Trip includes: • 16 days • All flights, round-trip from Washington to Bangkok and one in country flight.
