Dragon Boat, Art, Wine, Food, Entertainment, and Rides

Details
This will be a special FREE event during the Foster City Art and Wine Festival on June 1-2, 2013
We will be running free rides, free lessons, and races continuously from 10AM to 4pm. The Art and Wine festival features food, wine, art, retail, live entertainment, and kiddie rides.
A ride lasts around 15 minutes. You hop on a boat and we give you a quick safety lesson. You paddle around a bit and head back to shore.
A lesson lasts about an hour. You will learn a bit of basics of competitive Dragon Boat
The Bay Area Dragons provide life jackets, experienced coaches, excellent steerspeople, and flat water. In over 15 yrs, they have not had a single flipping. A dragon boat is a 38 foot long boat that holds 20 paddlers, a steersperson and a coach. It is extremely safe and the water in Foster City is extremely calm. It is salt water but not directly connected to the Bay so no tides or currents.
What to Wear - Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting wet. This is in case you splash yourself. Things you are recommend to bring: 1) Sunscreen as UV is higher on the water 2) Water to keep yourself hydrated 3) A Towel - to dry off after in case you splash yourself while on the boat.
Where to meet - We will near the water to the left of the Parks and Recreation bldg. 650 Shell. Shell itself will be shut down for the Art and Wine Festival. There will be banners and if you look out on the lagoon, you will see the Dragon Boats. We will be where they dock.
