Nihao! Welcome to our Mandarin Chinese learning community! This group is perfect for anyone interested in learning Mandarin, whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your skills. Most of our classes are designed for beginners, but we also offer intermediate and advanced sessions from time to time.
We typically host virtual meetups once or twice a month, providing interactive and engaging lessons to help you build confidence in speaking, reading, and writing Chinese. In addition, we occasionally organize in-person events in New York, where members can practice Mandarin and meet their peers in a fun and immersive setting.

Talking About Transportation in Chinese | Free Online Class

Sign up for a FREE online Chinese class now! We will have new content this time and meet at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on 11/2.
In this session, we are focusing on highly practical, everyday vocabulary for living and getting around in the city. By the end of this class, you will be able to confidently do two things:
- Talk about what you have (and don't have): We will master the essential 有 (to have) and 没有 (to not have) sentence structures. You will learn how to ask and answer questions about vehicles (cars, bikes, motorcycles) and everyday essentials (phones, wallets, watches).
- Goal: You will be able to smoothly say things like, "Do you have a bike?" or "I don't have my wallet."
- Describe your daily commute: We will learn how to ask people how they travel using 怎么 (how). We will cover all major NYC transportation vocabulary, including the subway, buses, taxis, walking, and driving, as well as destinations like work and school.
- Goal: You will be able to ask, "How do you get to work?" and answer, "I take the subway" or "I walk to school."
This class is ideal for beginners who want to take their first Chinese class. If you’re an intermediate or advanced learner, this class might be a little easy for you, but you’re more than welcome to join us.
