National Trails Day - Hiking in Fort Snelling State Park

Join us for a hike around the Pike Island on National Trails Day! During the hike tell us what you think about future of Pow Wow Trail in BWCAW and what kind of BWCA trips you would like . Hike starts at the parking lot of the visitor center at 500 Snelling Lake Road (by the river and below the Fort Snelling).
After the hike we will meet in Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center where we will give away number of prizes from National Trails Day package.
National Trails Day is sponsored by the American Hiking Society.
You will learn also some of the summer backpacking skills: water treatment options, foods for camping, light weight backpacking etc
