Into the Green Mind on the Powwow Trail

Details

What is Green Mind and how do we transition from stressful city life into the Green? To experience the neuropsychological phenomenon first hand, our crew will venture and cleanup the Lake Three to Rock of Ages section of the Powwow Trail over the Labor Day weekend. This segment does not have a huge number of deadfalls but clearing them will make it much easier for hikers to backpack the PWT and for the next crew to reach a section south of Path Lake.
Route: Lake One to Lake Three by canoe (about 5 miles, two short portages and 2.5 hours). We will either camp there and hike daily to work site or backpack to work site another couple miles. or so.
Work: Saturday and SundayRise early - 6:30 am - safety talk - work - back to camp by 6:30 pm. Return to TC on Monday.
Registration: $25 includes maps, administrative permit, canoes and is non-refundable
What you need: Gear list will be provided, but you will need tent, backpack, sleeping bag etc. Crew leader will provide water treatment devices, and can loan a stove, possibly other gear.
Small print: This trip is tobacco and pet free. Turn your phone to airplane mode for wilderness experience. Participants will need to attend a "shake down hike". Crew leader has the right to reject participation to anyone for any or no reason.
A really big small print: Participants must contact with organizer for per-trip interview and approval before registering for the trip.
