Friends & Family of Trail Volunteers: BWAC 2019 Volunteer Recognition Dinner

Details

Friends and family members of BWAC 2019 trail clearing volunteers, you are invited to join BWAC at the 2019 volunteer recognition event this November 6 at REI Bloomington. Celebrate BWAC volunteers, our hard-earned accomplishments on the Powwow Trail in 2019, and the BWAC mission of restoring Boundary Waters wilderness hiking trails.

• There is no cost for this event if you were a trail clearing volunteer in 2019. Register here if you were a 2019 crew member: https://www.meetup.com/Friends-of-BWCA-Trails/events/265437886/

• If you are a guest, friend or family member of a trail volunteer, click on the checkmark in the upper right corner of this page, "I'm going" so that we can count you in for dinner. There is a $10.00 charge to partially offset the cost of dinner for non-trail volunteers. No charge for kids and youth.

From April snow through spring and summer heat to October's freezing temps, one hundred and six trail trail volunteers made one or more trips to the Powwow this year, restoring the legacy trail foot by foot, yard by yard, mile by mile. They camped with strangers, ate semi-cooked oatmeal, went without real coffee for days at a time, suffered bruises, scrapes and blisters--all for the sake of a wilderness trail that few have heard of. Join our volunteers at this party-of-the-year and find out what happens on a trail clearing crew from actual, made-it-through-the-trip volunteers. Catered dinner by Dickie's Barbecue Pit.

Thank you for supporting the BWAC mission of stewardship and advocacy for wilderness trails. See you on November 6th.
