50+ walkers: Across the Hillside Natural Area in spring

Details

Meet at the stub end of King Court, El Cerrito, to enjoy native wildflowers and great views in the El Cerrito Hillside Natural Area (see a slide show of the area's wildflowers at www.fivecreeks.org/slideshow.shtml).

Owing to the leader's slightly sore knee, this will be an easy walk with gentle ups and downs, enjoying views and wildflowers. Wear shoes with good traction; bring sticks if you use them. Susan Schwartz leads.

To get there: From Moeser below Arlington, turn north onto King Drive or Shevlin Drive. Where King and Shevlin Drive meet, turn west, downhill, onto short, dead-end King Court. The walk begins at the downhill end. Internet maps: 1159 King Court, El Cerrito. You can walk downhill from AC Transit 7 on Arlington, but it's steep, and you'll want a map.

As always, the walk is free, but please RSVP to co-sponsor Albany Senior Center, 846 Masonic, 510 524 9122.
