Little Finland Photography for Focus 6 Attendees

Join Steve Dudrow and the Friends of Gold Butte for a photography outing to Little Finland in Gold Butte National Monument.
We will meet at the parking lot at the start of Gold Butte Road at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Thursday,
February 20 and caravan south of Whitney Pocket to Mud Wash and then approximately eight miles to Little Finland. In the wash, there are washouts and soft sand, so you will need a high clearance vehicle or four-wheel drive. On our drive in we will stop at the Mud Wash petroglyphs to photograph and discuss. We should arrive at Little Finland by 11AM, leaving plenty of time to explore the area and snap all the pictures you want. We will leave once everyone has had their fill and get back to the parking area before sunset at 5:22 PM.

Bring your camera, tripod, extra batteries, layers of clothing just in case it gets cold, plenty of water and lunch. For more information on Little Finland, see

Steve is a certified interpretive guide, Wilderness First Aid certified, site steward for the NV State Historic Preservation Office, Friends of Gold Butte volunteer and Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance Steward.

This outing will NOT be open to the public; ONLY for Nevada Magazine Focus 6 attendees. We will carpool so please let Steve know (email [masked]) who can drive and who will need to hitch a ride.
There are no toilet facilities at Little Finland so prepare for proper wilderness procedures to dispose of your waste.
