Really fast REST APIs

Details

We've been doing some internal prototyping for an alternative to Jetty + Jersey in the Neo4j Server. Jersey + Jetty performs 16 000 ops/second on commodity hardware in our benchmarks, while our prototype does 635 000 ops/second, with the goal of a million per second, again on commodity hardware. I think it would be a lot of fun to do a talk on how we got there.

Also, to have a discussion about some potential expansions to the Neo4j REST API, to get input and brain share on those.

Proposed agenda:

30 min talk on Smack, a prototype REST server. How we could expand the REST API to allow transactions across multiple operations, and discussion around that How we could expand the REST API to let a single TCP packet be enough to perform a series of REST operations that refer to each other, and discussion around that.

Also: For those of you who attended the previous meetup and signed up for a t-shirt, we will have those for you here :)
