Ferns of the Preserves
Details
Meet 10 species of ferns, and learn fascinating details of fern biology, ecology, and uses by people and wildlife. We'll find 9 fern species alongside Pine Flat Road, while the 10th will require an easy 3/4th mile hike up to serpentine outcrops on the Redhill saddle. On the way, we'll also appreciate mushrooms, mosses and lichen (so bring your camera). Dress warm, bring lunch, and be prepared for wet ground (which the ferns love).
