In October 2010 we (Till and Mark) set an intention to create a sanctuary space for those who would like to bring about more of a balance between their work and home life and to provide some respite from what can sometimes seem a demanding and chaotic world - a place to rest awhile and just "be". In July 2011 we made the jump and purchased Cherry Tree Lodge (http://www.cherrytreelodge.net).
We offer activities and events by people that we can personally recommend centered around well-being, art and nature. All in a tranquil and relaxing space for those wanting to explore their inner and outer landscapes and be nourished in mind, body and soul. Events such as meditation, creative writing, stained glass, yoga, mindfulness, sketching, raising a barn, tree care, community building, photography, storytelling, clowning, building wildlife habitats, massage, growing your own food, painting and the list goes on...
You will see from the list of our own interests that we have cast our net far and wide over the years to support our own well-being journey. We hope that this will be reflected in the diversity of offerings under the three main themes. Our respective journey's have connected us with some amazing people, places and activities culminating in creating a home for well-being, art and nature that is, and will become, Cherry Tree Lodge (http://www.cherrytreelodge.net) and we want to share it!
You will notice that some of our events have a fee and some are offered on an exchange basis. They are /will become a mix of residential and non-residential, varying in duration from a morning or afternoon, a day, a weekend, up to 1 week. Some people have even created their own weekend retreat incorporating an event that happens to be on at the time.
We can personally vouch for the individuals offering events by having either attended their workshops or by having a close association with them. Are you a workshop facilitator? - We would love to hear about any workshops linked to the three themes you could offer the group.
Are you an artist looking for space to exhibit your outdoor work either temporarily or permanently? - We would love to have a chat with you. We have made space for and are creating an art trail through the adjoining paddocks which have some fabulous "lent landscape".
